Maybe you’ve tried resting your back to let it heal, but no matter how much you rest the pain keeps coming back?

Maybe you’ve had a parent that’s been living with back pain that takes away their independence and you don’t want to go through that yourself?

Are you frustrated with constantly looking for answers to alleviate your neck pain and tightness on Google?

If any of this sounds like you, and you’re finally looking to get some relief from your neck pain… without painkillers or surgery.

Then rest assured, that you’ve come to the right place!

Many people struggle with neck pain and they’re worried it won’t go away.

It is worrisome that so many people who suffer from neck pain are told:

 “Its your age.

“Take dangerous pills.”

“Only surgery can fix it.”

“Just take it easy and do stretches.

A Premier Rehab and Training we specialize in helping active adults and athletes finally heal their backs without any pills or surgery, and get back to what they love pain free.

We specialize in assisting active individuals and athletes in healing their shoulders without the need for medication or surgery, getting them back to what they love pain free.

We understand it can be overwhelming to know exactly what you should do when you’ve got a neck pain and tightness that won’t go away. When you tell people you have neck pain you receive more options than you know what to do with:

  • Doctor prescribes pills
  • Friends tell you to try various products
  • Co-worker said they had that and needed surgery
  • Family members say “we all hold our stress in our neck, its genetic”
  • “Experts” on YouTube and WebMD suggest stretches
  • The chiropractor suggests you need to get adjusted multiple time per week

It’s hard to make a decision for your care because you might be afraid of what could happen if you make the wrong decision.

We will help you connect the dots as to why you’re having pain and remove the fear as to why it is happening.

We do this by using our blueprint.

Our neck pain blueprint consists of 3 things:

  • Identify the root cause of your movement compensation causing your pain
  • Know what is specifically required for YOUR body to safely train and compete in your sport without the pain coming back
  • Create a clear road map of how to bridge the gap

This blueprint is based on the the The Unified Health & Performance Continuum Model™ constructed by Bill Hartman, and the practices of the Institute of Orthopeadic Manual Therapy

There is no guessing.  We have over a decade of continuous learning and a wide network at our disposal to help stack the odds in your favor.

Unfortunately many clinicians, doctors included, make the mistake of treating the symptom of neck pain rather than eliminating the root cause to help provide a long term solution for you to stay active without fear of being sidelined by pain again.

When it comes to something as serious as neck pain, spinal stenosis, or degenerating discs, choosing the right provider can be the difference between suffering with pain for years to come and having to rely on dangerous surgery, painkillers, stopping the activities you love and need to do, or getting back to life free from pain.

Premier Rehab and Training in Bangor was founded after a decade of seeing patients that relied on the medical system to help their neck. Instead we would slowly see their health and back pain get worse rather than get better.

At Premier Rehab and Training we’ve developed a thorough three-step method that can not only get rid of your pain, but fix it for good!

Step 1: Understanding Your Root Cause

When you have been injured or have been in persistent pain you deserve to be listened to and have your story heard.

The medical system is currently designed to react to the first few words that come out of your mouth.

The doctor only has a few minutes to spend with you before moving on to the next appointment.

Doctors are trained to make quick decisions which usually result in prescribing pills or surgery.

But at Premier Rehab and Training we know that every person that walks into the clinic has a unique story and a unique situation. The root cause for each person is different because everyone has a unique body type, story, personality and desires.

One of the biggest mistakes clinicians make is focusing on the symptom of pain without evaluating the reason why it’s there.

What exactly does “root cause” mean?

Here is an example:

My patient Stephanie had horrible neck pain for years.

She used to be a personal trainer but the pain got so bad she had to find a different job.

She LOVED exercise and coaching people.

Not only did she have to stop the job she loved, she couldn’t lift weights or even do gentle yoga workouts. The headaches and neck pain were intolerable.

The interesting thing about Stephani, she was my patient when I was only a few years out from PT school. She got some pain relief, but we were not able to identify what the deeper issue was.

She want to multiple doctors and surgeons in Boston, and they just kept recommending different medications.

She saw massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, even other PT’s.

Stephanie’s health was really important to her, but she had accepted that the pain she had was going to be her new normal.

After she had her 1st daughter she wanted to give her health and neck pain 1 more shot. So she reached out to Dr. Cameron at Premier Rehab and Training.

After a few months Stephanie was able to start going for hike with her daughter strapped to her back, paint her ceiling, and sleep without pain.

She was excited and hopeful that she could start to workout again so we created a workout program for her.

Still no return of pain without injections, surgeries, or pills.

Stephanie was actually able to start to envision becoming a trainer again after we were able to address her root cause issues.

  • We take our clients through our blueprint to identify
  • What is required by the body to safely complete the client’s goals
  • What is the client currently capable of doing
  • Give clarity to what the gap is so that we can create a plan to close it

What does this actually look like? We use:

Motion Analysis:
Watching an athlete and patient do the movements that cause their pain and taking slow motion video to see where the compensation is occurring.

Hands On Assessment:
We take measurements of the patient’s joints and muscles throughout their body to get a better idea of WHY they’re compensating so that we can reverse engineer it.

Step 2: Targeted Interventions

How do we do this?

1. Manual Therapy/ Hands On Treatment:

Our doctors have spent literally 100’s of hours training AFTER Physical Therapy school to deliver the best possible results.

These techniques will help those with achy joints & tight muscles loosen up and end the cycle of pain you’re experiencing.

Some of these techniques include…

  • Gentle joint and muscle manipulations
  • Guiding pressure to teach muscles how to relax

Will these hurt?

This is a super common question because many people have experienced hands on techniques that are painful.

I want to assure you that is not the case here.

While these techniques can sometimes cause a small bit of soreness, you will see the benefits of the techniques immediately with measurable and visual improvements in flexibility, posture, and movement.

If it didn’t get the result we were looking for, we don’t do it again.

I also want you to know you are in control of what happens to your body.

Before we do any treatment we will take the time to thoroughly explain why we are doing the technique, how it will benefit you, and to make sure you feel comfortable with the method.

It’s hard to make a decision for your care because you might be afraid of what could happen if you make the wrong decision.

2. Exercises:

This is what truly sets us apart.

We ask our patients what makes us different and they say “I’ve done PT in the past where we did a bunch of exercises.  But here I was getting out of pain with gentle exercises within DAYS and feeling better than EVER with things that gave me pain throughout my life.”

75% of people will feel at least somewhat less bad with traditional cookie cutter exercises…

The other 25% need very specific exercise prescription to give them the relief they’re looking for.

At Premier Rehab and Training the doctor’s have been trained extensively in exercises to meet your goals whether that is getting back to playing sports as hard as you can, or feeling confident going for long walks. It always depends on your goal.

No two sessions are ever the same.

Step 3: Getting back to doing what you love

Getting back to playing a sport or going for a hike, activities that used to consistently trigger an injury or pain can be very scary.

None of us can do it alone.

That’s why at Premier Rehab and Training we help guide you confidently back to the activities that you enjoy pain free.

Dr. Cameron, the owner, used to be a chronic neck and headache pain patient himself. He wasn’t able to lift weights, go for runs, hike, or travel for years.

Traditional PT didn’t work for him either.

Fortunately he met the right people at the right time to give him clarity on what he didn’t know about movement so that he could not only feel better than he ever did before his pain started…

But be able to help his patients at a high level because he has been through the journey himself.

How do we help you get full confidence back?

We will execute the activities in the office together and create a plan that walks you through each step towards feeling 100% trustworthy in your body.
