Shoulder Pain Treatment In Bangor

Are you someone who has been enduring shoulder pain for an extended period?

Do you dread relying on painkillers just to manage showing up to your work and caring for your loved ones?

Are you anxious about having to give up your workout routine due to shoulder pain?

Do you fear making your shoulder worse while playing with your kids?

Do you feel like you have exhausted every option and now feel surgery is the only thing left to try, despite its potential risks?

Perhaps you’ve attempted to rest your shoulder to allow it time to heal, yet the pain persists no matter how much rest you give it?

Are you tired of endlessly scouring Google for solutions to alleviate your shoulder pain?

If any of these scenarios resonate with you, and you’re seeking long term relief from your shoulder pain—without resorting to painkillers or surgery—then you’ve landed in the right place!

At our clinic, we understand the frustration of grappling with shoulder pain and the fear that it may never go away despite all of our best attempts.

Most of our patients have heard their doctor, PT, or friends tell them:

“It’s just part of getting older.

“Just Advil when it hurts and you’ll be fine.”

“You’ll need surgery to fix that.”

“Take it easy and do some stretches.

Moreover, it can feel embarrassing to admit to your friends, family, and colleagues that your shoulder discomfort limits your activities.

We specialize in assisting active individuals and athletes in healing their shoulders without the need for medication or surgery, getting them back to what they love pain free.

We recognize the overwhelming array of advice you receive when seeking solutions for your shoulder pain. From doctors prescribing medication to friends recommending various products, and even coworkers advocating for surgery—navigating these options can be daunting.

Our blueprint is made up of three essential components:

  • Identify the root cause of your movement compensation causing your pain
  • Know what is specifically required for YOUR body to safely train and compete in your sport without the pain coming back
  • Create a clear road map of how to bridge the gap

This blueprint is based on the the The Unified Health & Performance Continuum Model™ constructed by Bill Hartman, and the practices of the Institute of Orthopeadic Manual Therapy

There is no guessing.  We have over a decade of continuous learning and a wide network at our disposal to help stack the odds in your favor.

Unlike conventional approaches that merely address symptoms, we prioritize identifying and addressing the root cause of your shoulder pain, and offering sustainable solutions that allow you to remain active without fear of it coming back.

Our comprehensive three-step method is designed to permanently close the gap identified in the Athlete Blueprint by:

Step 1: Understanding Your Shoulder

We recognize that each individual’s experience with shoulder pain is unique. Therefore, we take the time to listen to your story and conduct a thorough assessment to uncover the specific factors contributing to your discomfort.

Step 2: Targeted Interventions

How do we do this?

1. Manual Therapy/ Hands On Treatment:

Our Doctors have spent literally 100’s of hours training AFTER Physical Therapy school to deliver the best possible results.

These techniques will help those with achy joints & tight muscles loosen up and end the cycle of pain you’re experiencing.

Some of these techniques include…

  • Gentle joint and muscle manipulations
  • Guiding pressure to teach muscles how to relax

Will these hurt?

This is a super common question because many people have experienced hands on techniques that are painful.

I want to assure you that is not the case here.

While these techniques can sometimes cause a small bit of soreness, you will see the benefits of the techniques immediately with measurable and visual improvements in flexibility, posture, and movement.

If it didn’t get the result we were looking for, we don’t do it again.

I also want you to know you are in control of what happens to your body.

Before we do any treatment we will take the time to thoroughly explain why we are doing the technique, how it will benefit you, and to make sure you feel comfortable with the method.

It’s hard to make a decision for your care because you might be afraid of what could happen if you make the wrong decision.

2. Exercises:

This is what truly sets us apart.

We ask our patients what makes us different and they say “I’ve done PT in the past where we did a bunch of exercises.  But here I was getting out of pain with gentle exercises within DAYS and feeling better than EVER with things that gave me pain throughout my life.”

75% of people will feel at least somewhat less bad with traditional cookie cutter exercises…

The other 25% need very specific exercise prescription to give them the relief they’re looking for.

At Premier Rehab and Training in Bangor, the doctors have been trained extensively in exercises to meet your goals whether that is getting back to playing sports as hard as you can, or feeling confident going for long walks. It always depends on your goal.

No two sessions are ever the same.
